Forests in South Zealand and Møn

Pack a picnic basket, grab a butterfly net and go on a picnic. On South Zealand & Møn, the options are almost endless. Beautiful forests, rolling landscapes and winding paths along the edge of the sea.

In South Zealand and Møn, you will find forests that make it easy to slow down. There is space to walk without a destination, follow the paths and let curiosity guide your way.

Some forests are dense and quiet with tall trees and forest floors that invite exploration. Others open up with clearings, views and small spots to take a break.

Here we have gathered forests where the whole family can join in, and where the trip quickly turns into small experiences along the way.

Access in the forest

Please note that there are rules for where and when you are allowed to access forests in Denmark – and the rules differ depending on whether the forest is public or private. In public forests, you may access them at any time of day – and you may walk on roads, paths and in the forest itself. If you are cycling, you must stay on roads and paths. In private forests, you may access them from 6 a.m. until sunset – and you may only use roads and paths, whether you are on foot or cycling.
