In Næstved, you’ll find four beautiful hiking routes with lengths of between 48 and 275 km that take you past most of Zealand but which also pass through Næstved’s stunning nature.
Fodsporet runs from Næstved to Slagelse/Skælskør along the old railway line, which is no longer used.

Short walks in Næstved
Hikes don’t always have to involve backpacks and overnight accommodation. We’ve gathered a number of suggestions here for charming, short walks that can be completed in a single day.
Avnø is a unique natural area with both seals and birds that breed here. Both the red and blue route follow the fjord and past the best viewpoints.
The route goes around Glumsø Lake where you move both in the village and nature. The lake provides great wildlife and many birds seek their lunch here.
Choose one of the four Clover Trails in Fuglebjerg, where two of the routes take you around the city and two routes are outside the city in the rural idyll.
Take the 8 km long trip on Enø and enjoy the beach and the view over both the bay and to Gavnø. The route is not signposted but follow the paths along the coast.
Follow the path along Susåen which leads you into Herlufsholmskoven. You can choose the extra kilometers that also take you past Herlufsholm Church.
From the very straight Næstved Canal, the route takes you along Ydernæs. You follow the water much of the way until you move in the woods and by the lake.
Follow the red or blue route through the Lady's Plantation. The forest is owned by Næstved Municipality and there are both campfire sites and shelters on the route.
Visit Enø Overdrev, a protected area with unique coastal heathland and rich birdlife.
